“Eyes are the windows to the soul” is a saying that’s always creeped me out. Others having access to something so personal and private with a mere look is no comforting thought. Being given glimpses of one's soul is a privilege and should be highly appreciated. You decide who gets to see parts of your soul.

“Window” is a collection of semi abstract self-portraits made in gouache and acrylic paint on cardboard, paper and canvas in variating sizes and colours. Using experimental techniques with wet leaves, plastic wrapping and lots of water to create a mystic atmosphere.

Edit Kackur has been devoting time to art for several years now. She participated in Balatako in her spear time when she was younger and did the arts program at Jakobstads Gymnasium. Now she attends Västra Nylands Folkhögskola studying arts. Kackur does mostly traditional art such as paintings, drawings, illustrations and photography.
